11:10 PM: A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING was issued for Washington county until 11:30 PM for a storm capable of producing large hail.

10:20 PM: Strong thunderstorms continue to push southward into south Central Texas. A few storms will continue to affect the southwestern portions of the News 3 viewing area, however, the overall threat for storms in the Brazos Valley has come to an end.

A strong cap is in place from Bryan/College Station-eastward, resulting in storms diminishing as they push closer to Hwy 6. A few showers will remain possible, but most of the stronger storms should end by midnight.

7:05 PM: A very dangerous weather situation has broken out across south central Texas. What could be a very large and destructive tornado remains on the ground in Bell County a couple miles south of Belton. This storm continues to push southward and will bypass Bryan-College Station and most of the viewing area.

Of more concern is the Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for Milam and Robertson Counties until 7:30 PM. These storms have a history of producing large hail up to the size of baseballs. The tornado threat for our viewing area remains low, however...ANY severe storm is capable of dropping one at anytime. These storms will continue to push to the south and southeast at around 14 mph. As of now, the storm near Pleasant Grove and Highbank is now beginning to show signs of rotation. If you live in or around this area, including the town of Hearne, heavy rainfall, large hail and high winds appear to be the primary threat. We'll continue to keep this updated as soon as we get the latest.
