The College Station police department has a new pilot. Now it's ready to plot a new course.

A week after hiring Michael Ikner as the new chief, the city council voted Thursday to hire a consulting firm to develop a master plan for the police department.

The Virginia-based consultants will begin next month interviewing officers, city officials and citizens. The cost of the project is $95,000.
