Race Track Shut Down

Neighbors near the track took the owners to court claiming the facility was too loud. But the owner, Wayne Brown, said his family owned that property long before the neighborhood was built.

Races were usually conducted at Hot Rod Hill from mid spring to late fall. The racing season was already over for 2005. Unless lawyers appeal, the closure notice will go into affect in about a month.

Paul Murphy, who represented the neighbors in this case, says today's ruling will not affect the Bonfire scheduled to burn at Hot Rod Hill in late November.
