Two people are dead in separate accidents around the Brazos Valley.

The first happened about 7:30 p.m. Friday Texas 30, about four miles east of College Station.

The Department of Public Safety says Lisa Marie Carey, 23, of Huntsville was killed when she swerved to miss a cow in the highway.

Carey's pickup ran off the road and hit a tree.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second accident happened about 8:30 p.m. on Texas 6 in Robertson County.

It was a three car wreck about three miles north of Hearne that killed one person and injured five others.

Authorities say the driver of a Ford pickup swerved to miss a deer and hit an oncoming pickup.

That driver, Thomas Ray Ballew, 22, of Bryan, was taken to St. Joseph Health Center where he died.

A third driver swerved to avoid the accident and hit a tree.

Of the five people injured, two were treated and released.

Three others were in stable condition.
