A body found in the waters of Lake Bryan has been confirmed as that of 26 year old Alfredo Aviles.

Earlier Monday, the search for the missing Bryan man at lake was suspended due to bad weather, but was able to resume hours later.

Authorities began looking for Alfredo Aviles, 26, Sunday night after a friend said he never came home.

Aviles was last seen swimming in the lake Sunday afternoon.

Bryan Police, alongside the Texas Parks and Wildlife have searched camp grounds, trails and the water at Lake Bryan.

"We don't have an actual eyewitness that saw a person drown in the water. That was just the last place he was seen, so we really don't have a good idea of what happened," Game Warden Jason Bussey with Texas Parks and Wildlife said.

Authorities searched near a swimming area where Aviles' cell phone and flip flops were found.

The search for Aviles resumed around 5 p.m. Monday after the rain let up. His body was recovered just after 6 p.m.
