The Bush Presidential Library could soon be in line for a more than 8 million dollar upgrade.
Pending funding and finalized plans, construction will begin by the end of the year.
The library opened in 19-97 and was state of the art then -- officials say renovations should be made at least every eight years to keep the exhibits fresh.
The current plans include models of the White House situation room, an Oval Office, and a cabinet room.
Library officials hope to have the deal signed by November 1st so that the upgrade can be complete by the library's 10th anniversary in November 2007.
