The dog found dumped in a garbage bag with a gunshot wound Saturday afternoon in Montgomery County died from her injuries.
The Montgomery County Animal Shelter says she died around noon today. Officials originally said she had about a 50 percent chance of survival.
Investigators say this is the second dog in the past few months that was found in that condition. The dog, a female, appeared to be a Shepherd mix and is quite young was found by an oilfield worker. She was taken to the Conroe Emergency Vet.
The single bullet passed through her neck and it is believed nicked the trachea.
