Chances are if you have kids you put a lot of thought into their names.

Nationwide in 2007 the top five names for boys and girls included:

Boys:
1) Jacob
2) Michael
3) Ethan
4) Joshua
5) Daniel

Girls:
1) Emily
2) Isabella
3) Emma
4) Ava
5) Madison

Shakespeare once said "What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet."

Well, tell that to Texas parents many of whom put hours into figuring out what they're going to name their kids.

When it comes to the Lone Star State's most popular names there are a few differences, and we decided to put some local mom's to the test.

Many parents guessed Jonathan, William, or Tyler would be in the top five. As it turns out none of them made the list.

The top five Texas boy names are:
1) Jose
2) Jacob
3) Daniel
4) Christopher
5) Angel

Parents seemed to do a much better job when it came to guessing 2007's most popular girl names. Several mom's guessed Madison, Emily, and Elizabeth. Two out of three of those make the most popular list.

Top Texas Girl Names:
1) Emily
2) Mia
3) Isabella
4) Madison
5) Abigail

Propeecia looks and even sounds made up. Would even seem to be a name with a bad nickname from other kids.
