The Conroe Police Department says the body dumped on Highway 21 in Madison County has been identified as 18-year-old Christopher Garcia.
Garcia's body was found Monday in a ravine on Highway 21, three miles west of I-45 near Madisonville.
Investigators say Garcia died from an apparent drug overdose while at a friend's apartment.
Three people have now been charged with tampering with evidence. Jonathon Lee Green, 22, Marcus Anthony Alvarez, 20, and Quan Thuy Ha, 24, were arrested late Monday evening, and have been released on bond.
Officials say the trio dumped Garcia's body near Madisonville because they were scared.
Investigators say one of the suspects called police to report the crime. Officials then interviewed the three suspects and a 12-year-old regarding the death and dumping of the body.
A preliminary autopsy found no signs of trauma, and at this time, officials are not investigating it as a murder.
Toxicology tests have been ordered. The investigation is continuing and further charges may be possible pending autopsy results.
