An unforgettable year of preparation and practice paid off for a Madisonville FFA team. Now they're not just one of the best, they are the best.
The group won the national championship in the Agricultural Issues competition of the 78th National FFA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky
last week. The winning performance included a 15-minute presentation on the Beef Check Off program followed by seven minutes of questions from judges.
Madisonville FFA scored the highest among the 33 state teams competing in the category. Utah finished second followed by Kentucky and Oregon.
The national champs are Landon Reed, Christina Taylor, Victoria Taylor, Randi Standley, Lindsey Gilmore, Jarrod Reese and Wes Bailey. Their advisor and coach was Lynita Foster.
