CONROE, Texas (AP) - Authorities say they believe the deaths of
a retired Conroe husband and wife resulted from a murder-suicide.

Fred Hart, 66, and his wife Julia, 65, were found
dead yesterday. Authorities discovered the bodies inside their
waterfront home that overlooks a lake where three of the couple's
family members died in 1999.

Montgomery County Sheriff's Department Sergeant Ken Culbreath
says Julia Hart called 911 to report that she had been shot. He
says it appears her husband shot her before turning the gun on
himself.

Julia Hart's two daughters and grandson died on the lake when
their boat was hit by a speedboat. The driver of the speedboat was
drunk and is currently serving 60 years in prison for intoxication
manslaughter.

The Harts were also present on the boat at the time of the
accident.

Authorities say there was no suicide note at the scene and the
couple did not have a history of domestic violence.
