Unrelated Accidents Leave Two Dead

Two people are dead after unrelated accidents around the Brazos Valley Sunday.

The first happened in Houston County about 3 p.m., 16.5 miles east of Crockett.

Brittany Kathleen Nabors, 19, of Austin was killed when she tried to get out of the way of an on-coming car that was passing in a no passing zone.

Nabors car skidded off Texas 21 and hit a tree.

The second accident happened shortly after 4 p.m. in Madison County.

Van Phan, 72, of League City was southbound on the I-45 service road when he lost control of his SUV and the vehicle flipped, ejecting the two right-side passengers.

Phan was listed in critical condition at Scott and White Hospital in Temple.

His wife, Ann Phan, 66, was killed.

The other two passengers were in stable condition at Madison St. Joseph Health Center.
