Court Hears Race Track Noise Complaints

Video will be available shortly

Annoyed neighbors of a North Bryan race track made their voices heard in court this afternoon.

The civil trial against Bryan race track Hot Rod Hill began in 361st District Court, with plaintiff witnesses claiming repeated Saturday night racing kept them from sleeping or even hearing themselves.

One woman who lives off Dilly Shaw Tap Road a few miles from Hot Rod Hill testified that the noise was so loud on Saturday nights, she would leave her home and go to the parking lots of local stores like Wal-Mart until, she hoped, the races were done.

Also taking the stand were three sheriff's deputies, who were questioned about being called out to angry neighbors, and issuing citations and warning to Hot Rod Hill owner Wayne Brown.

The complainant in the case is asking for the track to be shut down, in addition to a monetary settlement.

The defense, in their opening arguments, says they will argue Brown has had that property in his family long before his current neighbors moved there.
