More Names Added to Veterans Memorial

Video will be available shortly

The walls of the Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial had a few more names added this Veterans Day.

Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas) delivered the keynote address at the memorial's grounds in Veterans Park in College Station. Congressman Chet Edwards (D-District 17) also made remarks to the audience, many of whom were World War II veterans. The group received a standing ovation from those present.

It was the fourth Veterans Day celebration since the memorial opened back on November 11, 2002.

More than 200 new names were engraved on the walls of the monument from six different branches of the military. Names have been added on five different occasions: all four Veterans Day ceremonies and on Memorial Day in 2003. Around 6,500 names can be added as the memorial stands now.
