Navasota Superintendent Leaving

Navasota ISD's superintendent is leaving. David Faltys has been named the sole finalist for the superintendent position in Carroll Texas.

He plans to accept the position, but Navasota's school board will have to vote to release him from his contract.

Faltys has been with the district for 7 years and served as superintendent for 3. Board president Linda McLain says he did a lot to improve the district.

"Of course we're all saddened to see him leave our community. He and his family have all been very vital members of our community. They've contributed beyond what he's done at the school. They've been apart of our society here. We're going to miss him," said McLain.

Faltys says he too will miss Navasota, but looks forward to the opportunities his new job will bring. The Carroll school board will officially name Faltys as their new superintendent on December 5th.
No word yet on when his last day as Navasota's superintendent will be.

Navasota's school board will meet Nov 21 at 6:30.
