A memorial service has been set to honor the lives of the PHI crew that died in a helicopter crash in Huntsville.
It will take place at First Baptist Church of Bryan Wednesday at 1 p.m.
A moment of silence was observed across the emergency radio channel airwaves Monday night in remembrance of Wayne Kirby, Jana Bishop and Stephanie Waters.
Air Med 12 out of Bryan was flying a patient from Huntsville to Houston when it crashed on a ranch in Sam Houston National Forest.

I was able to attend the memorial service at First Baptist Church and I was moved beyond words. Although tragic, that was the most moving service I have ever attended. It couldn't have been any better. I did not know the crew or patient, but I do work at a local hospital and am married to a volunteer firefighter, so you feel connected being in a service position such as ems, fire department or police dept. We seem to be one big support system or "family". It's a great thing. Bless all that have been touched by this tragedy.

PHI Air Med 12 has always been a great friend to Texas A&M Emergency Care Team. Their willingness to teach us and even let us see and work with them in scenarios often is what seals the deal for students at Texas A&M wishing to begin a career in emergency medicine... learning from the best and seeing how much they love what they do is infectious. I had no intention of ever getting to get certified- I just wanted to serve and help others. When I met the folks from Air Med 12 I knew instantly that I wanted to do more. We are all the better for knowing them. Billy, we are all here with you to help get you back up there. It was an honor to be at the memorial service and to have even but briefly known Wayne, Jana and Stephanie. May God Bless the PHI family and may he bring comfort and love the loved ones of Wayne, Jana, Stephanie and Mr. Disman.

Yesterday, I stood awestruck as children, teens, DPS crews, police officers, the elderly, those in work vehicles, and citizens of my country lined the freeways, standing at attention as our PHI Family procession made its way to FBC, Bryan. Hands over hearts, silence, stillness; resolute, steadfast honor pouring over us from every side, from the colleagues flying watch above us to every heart along the roadway .It is with great pride and great awareness that I give thanks to each and every one of you who paused in your daily lives to stand in remembrance of our sisters and brothers. This country, this land we love still knows what it is are made of. It could not have been expressed more beautifully. To all of you, Texas, I love you. Please accept my undying gratitude for your presences there. It could be any of us, on any given day. Thank God for the brave who are ready, always , to make the difference.
