A Sam Houston State University fraternity is suspended for 3 years after an investigation into a student death.

Officials say Omega Delta Phi provided alcohol to 19 year old sophomore, Noe Sandoval of Harlingen, at its bid day party back in September.

Sandoval died in a car accident after leaving the party. His blood alcohol level was 4 times the legal limit. The fraternity is prohibited from using university facilities, sponsoring activities, or accepting new members.

The earliest the fraternity can petition the Student Organization Board to request reinstatement will be Fall 2008.
