A portion of Highway 79 near Buffalo was shut down due to an overturned 18-wheeler, but is now open again.
TxDOT reported the southbound lane of the highway as closed after a truck turned over, spilling 15% hydrochloric acid. Officials say a hazardous material team and emergency personnel arrived shortly thereafter on scene.
Only five-to-ten minute delays were experienced by drivers, according to TxDOT, with flaggers alternating traffic in the northbound lane.
The road reopened around 1 p.m.
