Most people make New Years Resolutions each year, and they can range from getting a better job to getting in shape.
On New Years Eve some people are in the gym and working toward their New Year's Resolutions.
Erin Pilosi is a single mother of two who wants to up her workouts.
"I'd like to lose about ten pounds so that's what I'm working towards doing a lot of cardio, watching my diet, doing lots of abdominal work outs, cause again as a mom you like to do a lot of abs," said Erin Pilosi.
A Trainer at Aerofit Health and Fitness Center says there are steps you can take to achieve your fitness goals.
"It's more adapting and changing your whole lifestyle the way you eat, the way you exercise, how often, things like that," said Tyler Lutz.
Gyms seem to fill up as the new year rolls around, but there are other ways to work up a sweat.
Even if you don't have a gym another way to workout is by using the stairs instead of an elevator.
Justin Martin from Caldwell says consistency is key to health and fitness or else some won't reach those new goals.
"I think they just fall back into their normal lifestyle. They go and it's easy the first two weeks and then they get that sore feeling and then after that they get invited to do other stuff and it's just not that important to them anymore," said Justin Martin.
And Justin has a goal of his own.
"I have a Spartan race coming up in May which is five miles. I just ran one which was 13 miles.So this one I want to improve get better, and run a better time than I did last year," said Martin.
January 2013 may start a new year, but for many, they hope it's also the start of a new lifestyle.
A number of local gyms in our area are offering deals to help people meet some of their fitness goals.But fitness experts say walking or running outside is always another option, and it's free.
