The six dogs that mauled a Thorndale woman Saturday did not have rabies according to test results.
While they are still pouring over state laws, Milam County officials say a rabies charge might have been the only charge they could have pursued.
Lillian Stiles was mauled to death by half-a-dozen dogs as she was mowing her lawn. The preliminary autopsy results show Stiles died from the injuries caused by the dogs.
