Firefighters from seven different agencies responded to three simultaneous grass fires Saturday afternoon in Brazos County.
It happened about one-45 in the county's northwestern portion.
Firefighters from all four Brazos County precincts, plus Hearne, Blackjack, and the Texas Forest Service responded.
In all, about 100 acres were burned plus hundreds of bales of hay.
Numerous houses were also in danger, but firefighters were able to control the blaze and prevent any damage.
The fires were under control by about 4:30 p.m.
No exact cause has been determined, but it's believed a blown tire on a trailer, and the resulting sparks may be to blame.
The fires are still under investigation.
