Unrelated accidents caused traffic problems on areas roads Saturday.
A Waco resident was killed and another was injured after a two-car head-on collision on Highway Six in Falls County.
The wreck happened south of Riesel about 3:30 p.m. as local residents returned from the A&M Consolidated playoff game in Waco.
Authorities say the driver of a white pickup tried to pass a row of College Station ISD buses in a no passing zone and hit another pickup head-on.
The impact killed the other driver, a 47-year-old Waco resident.
The first driver is said to be in stable condition at a Waco hospital.
Officials say it appears neither driver had much warning of the impending collision.
Authorities believe alcohol may have played a role in the accident.
Closer to home, a total of five cars were involved in two separate accidents at the same location.
It happened just before 4 p.m.
Police say the husband of one of the drivers involved in the first accident, was hit by another driver when he arrived at the scene.
No serious injuries were reported in either collision.
Traffic was backed up for about an hour-and-a-half.
