The Department of Public Safety tells News 3, according to a witness, a red four door sedan was headed east on Highway 30 when the driver swerved into the westbound lane and collided head on with a van.
The driver of the sedan, 19-year-old Brittanie Brown of Elgin, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the van, 59-year-old James Hall, was taken to College Station Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition.
The Highway 30 bridge at the Brazos/Grimes County Line was closed until cleanup was complete.
