Winter Weather Arrives

By: KBTX Staff

All winter weather warnings and advisories have expired, and no more precipitation is expected.

Frigid arctic air will continue to blow in Thursday, giving the ice little chance to thaw out. Be particularly careful when walking on stairs and elevated ramps outside, and use extreme caution when driving over bridges and overpasses. Highs will barely rise above the freezing mark, if at all, and wind chills will be in the teens for most of the day. A hard freeze will occur tonight, with freezing temperatures expected from 6PM through 9AM tomorrow. Lows will bottom out in the lower 20s and upper teens. Any remaining ice and frost will thaw out by Friday afternoon as highs reach into the 40s.

Freezing temperatures are expected again by early Saturday morning, and then we expect a mild weekend with highs back into the 60s on Sunday.
