KBTX-TV is celebrating the 10th annual Food for Families Food Drive today, December 14, 2005. The food drive is a daylong event that collects non-perishable food items and paper goods for the Brazos Food Bank; a non-profit organization “seeking to eliminate hunger by the distribution of food and grocery products through a network of nonprofit organization while providing education and community awareness on issues of hunger.”
The link below will be active from 5:30am to 10:30pm:
With the overwhelming outpour from surrounding communities we are pleased to announce the addition of two new locations along with Bryan; Madisonville and Navasota. The event will run from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Brazos Center in Bryan, the Kimbro Center on the square in Madisonville, and the MidSouth Synergy office off of Hwy 6 and FM 3090 in Navasota from 6:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
The 9th annual Food for Families Food Drive raised over $46,000 and 240,000 pounds of food – the best ever! Entertainment ranged from area high school and jr. high school bands, choirs, orchestra groups, and area dance groups. We were able to have a structured, efficient food drive due to people in our community lending their time and hands.
KBTX-TV personalities were on hand from 5:30 AM until 10:30 PM to collect non-perishable items dropped off.
Come join us this holiday season and spread joy throughout the Brazos Valley!.
