Cities Will Handle Animal Control for County

The Brazos Animal shelter will no longer handle animal control for the county. Instead the Bryan and College Station will take over.

Tuesday morning Brazos County Commissioners signed off on an agreement for animal control officers in Bryan and College Station to take over the duties.

Bryan will handle all animal control issues north of University Drive, while College Station would take care of those south of University. The term of the contract is from January 1st 2006 through September 3oth 2006, with the option to renew annually.

The sheriff's department will still be responsible for livestock seizures.
