Willis man is dead after a scuffle with a Montgomery County Sheriff's deputy.
Thirty-three-year-old Richard Davis was shot and killed by Deputy Garrett Burleson Tuesday night. Authorities say Burleson was responding to a reported burglary in Willis when Davis attacked and struck the deputy.
An eyewitness says Davis choked and hit Burleson on the face and head and shots were fired during the struggle.
Davis was taken to Conroe Regional Hospital where he later died from his injuries. Burleson was treated at St Luke's hospital for minor injuries. The Internal Affairs Division for the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department will be investigating the incident.
