Extreme Makeover Makes One Local Family's Wish Come True

Updated: Fri 7:24 AM, Dec 16, 2005

Team leader Tye Pennington got the crowd ready Thursday on the set of Extreme Makeover Home Edition in Washington County.

While Texas A&M yell leaders and Reveille pepped up the design team before the big reveal.

With only a few hours left before the DeAeth family came home, Tye moved from the crowds to those wanting autographs, and the crowd stood with excitement.

"Nothing like this ever happens and its fun to come out and support the makeover team and the family," Spectator Sarah Marek said.

Since Saturday the Extreme Makeover team has been working on this house, selected for the family's mission to care for stray animals.

Once termite infested and overrun by hooves, paws and claws, with the help of numerous volunteers, the DeAeth family's dream became a reality.

After the bus pulled away, the family of five was shocked and excited by the crowd, and they inched closer to the biggest "Christmas" present of the year.
