Soldiers Homecoming

Some local soldiers received a hero's welcome on Friday.

The 36th infantry division of the Texas Army National Guard based in Bryan rode in a procession along Texas Avenue Friday afternoon.

The unit was stationed in Iraq for a year. About 75 soldiers were from the Bryan College Station area. Their friends and family waved and greeted them with warm smiles. The unit wasn't expected to come home until February, so it was a nice surprise for soldiers to be home in time for the holidays.
