As Bryan Police continue to investigate gang-related violence, two bonds with a message have raised a few eyebrows.
Bond was set at $1 million each for Joseph Sanchez and Wenceslado Padilla Jr following their arrests on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Authorities allege Sanchez and Padilla committed a drive-by shooting on Beck Street Saturday. No one was injured in that incident.
Justice of the Peace Margaret Meece issued the million dollar bonds, saying the community's safety is a top priority. Meece says this was not the first time that vehicle had been involved in a violent incident, and with the on-going gang problems, she wanted to send a message that those acts would not be tolerated.
