In addition to considering an extention of the fireworks ban Friday, the Brazos County commissioners will also look at candidates to temporarily fill the vacant seat on Brazos County Court at Law #1.
That seat was vacated when Judge Randy Michel pled guilty to abuse of official capacity when he had illegal closed door meetings with an attorney during a case he was trying.
County Judge Randy Sims says there are four candidates commissioners will consider, none of whom will be running for that seat in the 2006 elections. Five people filed to run for that seat in the November vote.
As the search for a short-term replacement gets underway, Senior District Judges John Delaney and Bob Towslee will take on that court's cases through January.
