Bryan Officer Injured in Collision

By: KBTX Staff
Video will be available shortly

Scary moments this morning for a Bryan police officer responding to a call of an assault in progress.

Police say the officer was westbound on Villa Maria shortly after nine a-m when the driver of a southbound vehicle on College failed to yield to the officer's cruiser.

Neither driver was seriously injured, but police think the patrol car may be a total loss.

The driver of the other vehicle was initially ticketed for no driver license, no insurance, and failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.

But once at the hospital, officers found a Mexican ID in his wallet that had a different name from the one he had given police.

The man was then arrested for failure to identify.
