Earlier this month local charities were a bit concerned about people giving this holiday season. But that doubt is now gone.

Thanks to the generous donations and gifts from the Brazos Valley, Christmas will be brighter for those less fortunate. Numerous toy drives and fund raisers have been held over the past few weeks. Which means toys will be delivered to over a thousand kids throughout this week.

"Everything has been very successful. Salvation Army, several of the radio stations and churches have been working with agencies such as CPS and of course 211. We've all kind of pulled together to really make sure no families have had to go without toys for the children," said Kay Parker with United Way.
