A state of disaster is declared in Milam county Thursday afternoon, all fireworks are now banned.
The extreme dry conditions have prompted Milam County Judge Frank Summer to declair the state of disaster. According to the judge retailers in the county can still sell fireworks, as long as they don't sell any of the restricted fireworks. Those include skyrockets with sticks and missiles with fins.
Residents are not allowed to pop any fireworks within city limits. In a statement from the county the use of all 'combustible' materials is banned. The judge says combustible materials include, "the use of all fireworks, materials used in activities such as welding and any other activity that could result in a fire."
