In his young life, Tanner Bergeron has faced numerous obstacles in his life, but that hasn't stopped him from overcoming them.
Because of his profound deafness, Shelly and Jon knew they had to do something to help their son so they began learning sign language.
While he made quick progress in learning to communicate, there were other problems.
To help him with his balance and coordination, Tanner's parents turned to the Brazos Valley Rehabilitation Center because they knew the center had a known reputation of helping children.
His physical therapist Corissa has helped him strengthen his muscles and learn how to balance.
When Tanner was halfway through kindergarten he started occupational therapy to help him with his handwriting.
While his handwriting is improving day by day, one of his biggest accomplishments is that he's learning to read and write with the rest of his classmates, which is usually a difficult task for deaf children.
It's Tanners drive, dedication and determination that's inspired everyone around him and it's those traits that will carry him far in life.
