Robertson County Officials Busy With Multiple Grass Fires

It was a busy day Saturday for Robertson County firefighters.

One grass fire was on Farm Road 391 between Wheelock and Blackjack.

Another fire was reported east-northeast of Hearne.

Smoke from the fires could be seen from Bryan-College Station today.

Just how many acres burned is not yet known, nor if any homes were damaged.

An investigation into what started those fires is underway.

As reminder, all seven Brazos Valley counties, and many more in the KBTX viewing area remain under a burn ban.

This not only includes a ban on fireworks, but all outdoor burning.

Violating the ban is a class C misdemeanor and could get you a fine of up to 500-dollars.

You could also be liable for any property damage you cause.
