Blinn College's board will review the bids from a pair of companies vying to demolish two dorms and a house on the Brenham campus.
The low bidder, AAR Environmental out of Houston, said they'd do the job for more than $15,000 less than the second-lowest bidder, and in half the time.
The board will get references on AAR, and if they check out, Blinn will choose them.
The board also raised tuition from $28 to $30 per credit hour for in-district students, and from $54 to $59 dollars for all other Texas students. Out of state and international tuition will remain at $130 dollars.
Blinn says the raise is because their costs are rising, and they won't receive enough state funding in the coming years.
