Local residents marched through Bryan to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Hundreds walked from Sadie Thomas Park to Kemp Elementary for the 10th Annual Freedom March.
Community groups like the NAACP, ACLU and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority led the way for marchers and flags were carried by Bryan High AFJROTC.
The group, that included U.S. Rep. Chet Edwards and State Representative Fred Brown, sang civil rights freedom songs and the marching band from Hearne played along.
One local resident says after all Dr. King's struggles, marching in his honor was the least he could do.
"As I look back and I see all the situations and circumstances he had to go through, the least we could do is come and celebrate this day," said Kenneth Robinson.
Following the march, residents gathered for a formal program.
