A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect for Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Lee, Leon, Madison, Milam, Montgomery, Robertson, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Waller, and Washington Counties until 7am SUNDAY. 1" to 3" of rain, with localized totals between 5" & 7" will be possible as a slow moving, weak cold front arrives through early Sunday.
A steady drizzle made driving treacherous in parts of the Brazos Valley Friday.
And that includes south College Station where authorities responded to a one-vehicle accident around 7:30pm. A work truck travelling Highway 6 near the Texas World Speedway apparently hit some standing water and hydro-planed. After spinning 180degrees, it came to rest in the opposite direction. No one was injured and after a quick clean up, traffic resumed.
And a rain-slick road is also being blamed for a Madison County accident that injured four. Authorities say the vehicle rolled over at FM 1452 near OSR when the driver lost control. Besides the adult driver, there were three children in the vehicle.
One of the occupants was taken by helicopter to Scott and White in Temple. The others were taken to Madison County St. Joseph. No word on any of their conditions.
