The Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference, one of the largest student-led conferences in the nation, is meeting at Texas A&M this weekend.
More than 600 African-American college students from across the country are attending S-B-S-L-C.
The conference addresses issues facing the black community and helps students develop leadership skills and networking opportunities.
Jacque Reid, host of BET's nightly news, was a keynote speaker on Saturday.
Reid spoke to students about letting the light of the past illuminate future.
