We now know it wasn't a bomb that prompted yesterday's evacuation in Bryan.
So what was it?
Turns out police say it was an equipment part that was possibly used in a heating or cooling system.
But it was not homemade and the homeowner couldn't remember how it got in his garage.
The mystery object forced the evacuation of several homes in the Copperfield subdivision.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the device was removed and taken to the Bryan police department.
No charges were filed.
A portion of Copperfield subdivision was evacuated Wednesday afternoon after the suspicious-looking device was spotted in a garage.
Authorities were called to the 4200 block of Warwick around 2:45pm when someone saw the object. An area that included Viceroy and Brompton was cordoned off and a pair of homes evacuated. College Station's bomb squad removed the device just after 5pm.
A follow-up investigation is underway.
