Two children are dead and a third is clinging to life with severe burns after an overnight house in Bryan.
Fire crews were called out shortly after 2 a.m., Saturday, and found the house engulfed.
In all, seven people, including five children were inside. The children were cousins, some of whom were visiting for the weekend.
Officials say firefighters had to comb through heavy smoke and flames to find the people inside.
"They did make a search of the house. They did get two children that were pretty severely burned out. And there were two children left behind in the back bedroom that they could not get to," said Warren Fowler, an investigator with the Bryan Fire Department.
Those last two children were killed, while the first two were life-flighted to the Shriners' Burn Unit in Galveston.
The boy and girl who died have been identified as Brandon Hubbard and Gabrielle Banks, both 7.
The two children taken to Galveston are five year-old twins Victor and Vickia Hamilton.
Vickia was described as having burns over 30 to 50 percent of her body, while Victor suffered burns over about 90 percent of his body.
The house re-ignited Saturday afternoon, but no one was inside.
