Stabbing Suspect in Custody

A Houston man is in custody in connection with the fatal stabbing of a Bryan woman.

Defredrick Granderson, 30, is charged with evading and resisting arrest following a car chase Monday morning through Bryan and College Station.

The stabbing happened on Wellington Street in Bryan around 4am Monday. Once Bryan police arrived on the scene, Granderson fled in a vehicle and led officers on a chase down Texas Avenue, until the suspect crashed on Timm Street in College Station.

The stabbing victim, 33-year-old Andrea Kimbrough, was taken to St. Joseph Regional Health Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Additional charges against Granderson are pending.
