Pre-Dawn Crash Kills Two Prairie View A&M Students

HOUSTON (AP) - Three people -- including two Prairie View
A-and-M students -- were killed today in a head-on crash on a
highway northwest of Houston.
Investigators say one of the vehicle was driving the wrong way
in the westbound lanes of U-S Highway 290 in northwest Harris
County.
Harris County sheriff's deputies say the driver of an
tractor-trailer rig reported the wrong-way vehicle to 9-1-1
operators, but deputies couldn't reach the scene in time to prevent
the crash.
Sheriff's Lieutenant D-A Coleman says one car containing two
unidentified men slammed into a car driven by a woman. He says
investigators haven't yet determined which car was driving the
wrong way on the divided highway.
No identities have been released of the three killed in the
pre-dawn crash.
