Madison County Commissioner Killed

Madison County Commissioner Jim Andrus, precinct four, was killed Wednesday morning in a car accident.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office say Andrus lost control of his vehicle on FM 1372 around 6 o'clock Wednesday morning.

He skidded off the road and rolled. Police say Andrus was ejected from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the accident is unknown.

J.M. Day funeral home in Madisonville will be handling all funeral arrangements.

Andrus was up for re-election. The county judge will appoint someone to fill the position in the interim.
