According to the Texas Auto Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority (ABTPA), every two minutes in Texas, a car is burglarized for contents or parts.
Every five minutes, a car is stolen.
The Texas ABTPA wants you to know that you hold the key to preventing those things.
This month has been named "Watch Your Car Month" and now more than ever, Texas drivers are urged to become actively involved in vehicle crime prevention.
It's as easy as practicing three simple guidelines.
Lock, Take and Hide.
Lock your vehicle. Take your keys. And hide your belongings.
Last year, around 94-thousand cars were stolen in Texas and in almost half of the cases, the keys were left inside the car.
Don't be a victim.

We had this problem in Tiffany Park in Bryan. These thugs look to be armed and work in groups of two are more. Video of them from a IR night video system was on KBTX and crime stoppers. They hit us a few times at about 2:30am. Every 4or5 months. Be careful if you come upon them. Look for a fight with firearms. Contact the police first. I was armed and pissed the last time they came back. A assault rifle is a crime stopper. Things like this are not on the news all the time. The last old information I had no one was arrested. I have not had a problem for some time. These thugs drive nice new trucks. KBTX run the video again. Be very careful if you have contact with thugs. The may put up a fight in your drive way of your Home. Do not think that because you have a gun you have a edge. These thugs have one also. Ever good citizens needs to be armed with a assault type of weapon AK-47 AR-15 etc. Take a class on it and the law. Be sure about the place your round will stop before you fire.
