An afternoon fire in College Station Monday has left a family displaced.
Firefighters responded to the Springfield Drive home just before 2pm. Smoke and fire was seen coming through the roof of the house.
No one was home at the time of the fire, although there were pets in the home that were killed. It took firefighters about 20 minutes to put the fire out, with everyone making it out safely.
The city's fire marshal's office is investigating the cause.
