A vicious assault Thursday night in Bryan lands a 23-year-old in jail.
Jonathan Auston allegedly went to a Bittle Street residence around 10:30. The 26-year-old victim believed Auston had come to visit, but Auston began attacking, first with his fists.
Auston left, only to come back 10 minutes later with an aluminum bat, which he struck the victim with multiple times.
Bryan Police tracked down the vehicle Auston drove away in. He attempted to elude authorities, but eventually surrendered.
Auston's bond was set $40,000 on aggravated assault and evading police charges.
