A quick thinking school bus driver is being credited with helping to save the life of a College Station resident.
Deborah Johnson saw a duplex on Lawyer Street engulfed in flames as she drove by Wednesday morning . She quickly pulled over and called for help.
Minutes later, the College Station Fire Department was on the scene. They entered the apartment, where they found an unconscious resident who they rescued. He was taken to the Med and is listed in good condition.
"I was really nervous during the rest of my bus route because I didn't really know what was going on," said Johnson, who has driven buses for College Station ISD for 23 years. "I knew it was a fire, but I was just praying nobody was in there, and they got there in time."
The cause is still under investigation.
