Five UT Students Killed in Missouri Crash

AUSTIN (AP) - Five friends looking forward to careers in medicine were on their way to a medical school conference when they were killed in a car crash.

The victims, all University of Texas students, were Lan Nguyen, 21, of Sugar Land; Nikolaus O. Simeon, 20, of League City; Fan Sun, 18, of Spring; Stephanie A. Wilson, 20, of Houston; and Michael T. Woodward, 22, of Austin.

They were all killed Thursday night in a car crash in southeastern Missouri. Police say a tractor-trailer collided with the Toyota Corolla being driven by Woodward as he tried to make a U-turn.

Four of the students died at the scene, while Simeon later died at an Arkansas hospital.

All of the students were members of Alpha Epsilon Delta, an honor society for pre-med students.

The five were on their way to the society's conference this weekend in Saint Louis.
